This policy explains what information NFT Universe (nftuniverse.com.au) collects, why, and what you can do about it.
Who we are#
NFT Universe is an educational website about NFTs, cryptocurrency and Web3, operated from Australia by Sophie Preston, an Australian sole trader (ABN 97 601 139 438), Victoria. You can reach us through our contact page.
What we collect#
Information you give us
- Anything you send us if you contact us or leave a comment.
- Your email address, if you subscribe to our email list or submit a form that asks for it. Subscribing uses double opt-in: nothing is sent until you confirm your address via a confirmation email, and you can withdraw consent at any time via the unsubscribe link in every email.
Information collected automatically
- Analytics data via Google Analytics: pages viewed, approximate location (country/region), device and browser type, how you arrived at the site, and how long you stayed.
- Standard server logs: IP address, request time, and the page requested.
- Cookies — see below.
We do not collect payment details, we do not ask for wallet addresses or private keys, and we will never ask you for a seed phrase or private key. Anyone who does is attempting to steal from you.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third parties except the service providers listed below, or where we are legally required to.
Cookies#
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. This site uses:
- Essential cookies — needed for the site to function.
- Analytics cookies — Google Analytics, to measure traffic.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking analytics cookies will not stop you using the site.
Third-party services#
- Google Analytics and Google Search Console (via Google Site Kit) — traffic measurement. Google’s privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy
- Our hosting provider — stores the site and its server logs.
- Wordfence — security scanning and firewall, which processes request data including IP addresses.
- MailPoet — manages our email subscriptions. The subscriber list is stored in this site’s own database; outgoing emails (including the confirmation and welcome emails) are delivered through the MailPoet Sending Service, an external email processor that handles your email address and subscription status to deliver messages and to measure email opens and link clicks. MailPoet’s privacy notice: mailpoet.com/privacy-notice
- Overseas disclosure — some providers listed above (including Google and the MailPoet Sending Service) process data overseas. Personal information they handle is governed by their own privacy terms linked above.
Affiliate links#
Some links on this site are affiliate or referral links. When you click one, the destination company may set its own cookie to record that you came from us. That cookie is controlled by them, not us, and is governed by their privacy policy. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
How long we keep it#
- Email subscriptions: until you unsubscribe.
- Analytics data: per Google Analytics’ retention settings.
- Server logs: as retained by our hosting provider.
- Comments and messages: until they are no longer needed, or until you ask us to remove them.
Your rights#
Under the Australian Privacy Principles you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you,
- correct it if it is wrong,
- delete it,
- stop sending you emails.
Use our contact page and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are in the EU or UK, equivalent rights under the GDPR apply.
Security#
We use HTTPS across the site and take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold. No website can promise perfect security, and we will not pretend otherwise.
Children#
This site is not intended for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes#
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be noted on the page.
Complaints#
If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner: oaic.gov.au
